Re: Mike and Jon gone from WHMI
Interview with WLNS: https://www.wlns.com/news/local-news/saying-goodbye-whmi-fm-hosts-leave-after-almost-20-years/ I would love to know the scummy advertiser(s) responsible for strong arming WHMI. The only positive thing I'll say about Krol Communications is at least the morning team was given the ...

Re: Denmark drops most of its Covid-19 Restrictions
Huh? The U.S. hardly has any nationwide COVID-19 restrictions as it is. Yes, Biden tried to implement some - but the courts blocked him.
Canada might be a different story, however. I've not been following their COVID-19 related policies closely at all.

Re: Mike and Jon gone from WHMI
Sounds like an asshole advertiser is responsible for Jon's departure, and then Mike presumably quit in protest.
Fuck Krol Communications!

Either he is a placeholder until a real news director is hired or this operation is going to be a flop.

I agree 100 percent with SixPlusOne.
That said, Circle Seven is also right. The metal detector screening process isn't perfect. (Great anecdotal story, by the way.)
A comprehensive approach is required.

Thanks for the info.
I do see there is a station currently licensed to Lima, OH who is proposing a move to Lenawee County and use RF channel 30? Bizarre stuff.

Very underwhelming choice. Underqualified, it would appear. Screams "cheap." Hope I am proven wrong.
Why not hire someone who actually has hands-on experience running a large newsroom responsible for producing 35, 40 or 50 hours of televised local news a week, preferably in a top 30 TV market?

Adult men, rightly or wrongly, aren't viewed as defenseless.
Good article. I was entirely unaware of USC's scandal, which actually did involve females, so that partially invalidates the author's thesis.

Re: WJMN dumping CBS?
Good info; thanks for sharing that story. I think it can be said for many TV operators in the digital age in the U.P. that a medium powered main transmitter - preferably on VHF - coupled with digital translators in major population centers would be the most effective way to maximize OTA reach. Indee...

Re: WBKB adds NBC
Only two TV stations call the Alpena market home - WBKB and WCML. Since WBKB is the only commercial station, it enjoys a ton of flexibility in terms of affiliation options, since certain FCC rules will never come into play. Admittedly, my knowledge of duopoly and LMA rules for network TV affiliates ...

Financial penalties in the form of higher health insurance premiums, just like smokers.
There are other measures that can be undertaken, too, but the above would probably be the most effective.
