Re: AM radio sound clarity on car radios

If I were serious about listening to AM, I'd have a good ol' GM Delco radio wired up right here on my desk. Probably the best sounding AM receivers i've come across. (don't put it past me - I've often had an assortment of mobile radios in use indoors and in the garage over the years - they have incr...

Re: Nautel MA3 All Digital AM

I fell in love c-quam stereo, I loved it, AM HD, not so much AM HD in it's current incarnation (hybrid) does indeed suck. Even on FM. I find myself switching a lot to analog manually for a couple reasons 1. analog processing of the audio before it goes out digitally really makes it sound like crap....

Re: 93.9 FM The River in Windsor

Funny - I liked the second incarnation of the river, and found myself wanting to hear it this morning actually LOL.

Ann Arbor's 107.1 is a pretty suitable replacement. Was listening to them yesterday in Brownstown when I heard the new Depeche Mode song come on.

Re: Nautel MA3 All Digital AM

I'll have to try and DX for this. Would be interesting to hear.

I drive a C-MAX and have no problem with AM reception (HD or otherwise)

Re: CIDR....hilarious

it did seem to get better for a bit, but now is 2x worse than it was to begin with. Seems like simply turning down the level going into the exciter would fix it temporarily? guess that's why i'm not an engineer :)

Re: Little bit of winter Tropo

Last few days have seen some Tr enhancement. Nothing much exciting, but a little fun for the winter season. Right now I'm hearing WWDK no matter which direction I point the antenna. Tri-Cities, Flint, Cleveland and SW Ontario stations are in well. 105.1 and 105.9 are getting weak when pointed SE (me...

Given the direction of my reception, I'm going to guess Chatham.

I noticed this this morning, especially on the HD stream (HD1). No bass.

Re: CW 50 co-channel interference?

Last night there was a lot of tropospheric enhancement in the region - very likely something else on RF34 was trying to wipe out WKBD.

I was listening to WQKL 107.1 Ann Arbor and kept getting WSAQ Port Huron, despite being less than 15 miles from WQKL's TX.

Re: CIDR....hilarious

yeah what I was talking about was mainly the overdriven audio. I talked to someone at the station yesterday, the claim is that an engineer is waiting on a piece of equipment to arrive.

Little bit of winter Tropo

Hearing all of the tri-cities stations as well as WGDN and a few outliers in stereo this morning from Sumpter Township. Z93 really screams in nowadays without IBOC on WDRQ.

CIDR....hilarious

Virgin radio has been running terrible audio for almost two weeks now, and no one here has noticed LOL (or at least posted about it). Goes to show what their listenership looks like. I miss the river.
