Heck, 106.5 Jack FM plays more 90s alternative than LAV or even GRD!

I've worked within a few miles of WPRR-FM's tower for the last three years and I don't think I've ever heard it on

Re: Open Letter to The Grateful Dead Station
I wonder how many wannabe broadcasters have looked at Yob's stations? My best guess is "not many" As for Roy's stations, yes, there was a time when the Benzie and Manistee stations were billing between $12,000 and $25,000 a month. However, a mild winter is all it took to unravel those numbers. Coll...

Re: Debate in TC?
Aren't debates often a collaboration between multiple media members? If that is the case, 9&10, the Record-Eagle, and IPR might be collaborating.

That Walgreens was nasty; not surprised at all it closed. The sleazy motels and hotels along 28th St are a major detriment. I was in it once and it was nasty. I've never been in the ones at 44th and Division and 28th and Kalamazoo, but those look nicer from the outside (especially 28th and Kalamazo...

Smith-Groen Lumber at 2850 S. Division was known as Erb Lumber during my youth. That stretch of S. Division is loaded with Latino businesses these days, including that very same property. Plenty of taco stands to be had (literally). Are there still used car lots galore, or are those largely gone no...

One prediction is that WJMN adds ABC and CW to its subchannel lineup.

98.9 was under a 1 share in Seattle (not good for a full Class C signal) and was getting beat by noncom AAA stations with weaker signals.

WQON is underpowered for a C1 at 60kW with a HAAT of 131 meters. I'm surprised nobody over the last 20 years or so has attempted to get them up to 100kW: https://fccdata.org/?lang=en&facid=2308 ... 3ebeb7&i=2

It's interesting that 89.9 is still being run as its own brand.

Maybe CMU should rent WFDX: https://radioinsight.com/headlines/265911/fcc-report-3-10-six-new-allocations-granted-in-hawaii/ (scroll down) It wouldn't be the first time a public radio station has rented one of Northern Broadcasting's former stations! A few years back, WIAA aired on 105.5 WSRJ for a...

Comcast dropped WCMU in Flint despite WCMU still being assigned to the Flint/Tri-Cities market. However, both dishes and Spectrum still carry WCMU in the entire Flint DMA. In fact, WCMU is still carried on Spectrum systems in northern Oakland County and Lapeer County. Speaking of WCMU, I'm a little ...
