Re: I also oppose self-driving vehicles

My wife really wants one if and when they are available. But I think they're a lot of years away yet before they're fairly perfected. And, my wife that will probably be after she's dead. And since we're both 70 now, she's probably right.

Re: Chick-fil-A

I remember when Wendy's first arrived in Michigan their burgers were hot & juicy. You'd have that stuff running down your hand and arm. They were really good. Then they got away from that and were like everyone else, cook'em up and throw them in a warming bin. In the last few years, they've gotten b...

He was the tv guy for the Dallas Stars when he took ill. Plus, when he left the Wings, he went to ESPN and called their games for a number of years.

Re: NFL reaction to Trump's comments on standing for the Anthem

As a preliminary matter, at least the Detroit Lions are remaining silent on this issue. http://www.freep.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2017/09/23/donald-trump-national-antehm-protests-nfl/697400001/ Good! Keep politics out of sports. The comment from Trump that started the backlash was "If a player wa...

Re: Dave Brandon steers Toys 'R Us to the brink of bankruptcy!

But how long has Brandon been in charge at Toys r Us? Cause I remember hearing as far back as 10 yrs ago or more that that company was in trouble and might have to go bankrupt.

Used to go to the Taylor one many times over the years. Went to the Mt Clemens one a couple of times. Liked going to the different shows they had, like the card shows and gun & knife shows. Wasn't the greatest place, but it was something to do.

Re: Verlander Trade Rumors

Tigers get 3 prospects back, P Franklin Perez, OF Daz Cameron, son of former MLB player, Mike Cameron, and C Jake Rogers. Tigers also included $10 million. Tigers thought they had a deal earlier, but Verlander vetoed the trade at that time, hoping his first choice of teams, the Cubs, would make an o...

Or Kroger....or Target....or Meijer....etc.... I broke my foot last week. Being a diabetic with neuropathy, I didn't feel any pain or even realize I had a fracture until my wife saw my swelled-up foot and said you're going to the doctor...NOW! Long story short, I'm having surgery next Monday to rep...

Re: Favourite Hymns

Two pretty good hymns there. First time I ever heard Just A Closer Walk With Thee was in the Paul Newman movie, Cool Hand Luke when it first came out. Harry Dean Stanton sang it. Thought it had a nice sound to it. Favorite of mine is, On Eagles Wings.

Revocable trade waivers. If another team claims him, the Tigers can pull him back, let him go, or work out a trade with the claiming team(s).

Re: Walmart stores that are tolerable...even nice!

2. The original 28th St & Kalamazoo Ave store in Grand Rapids. The store was outmoded and small but had plenty of character. What made this store so awful was its customers - a bunch of ghetto acting (and likely, ghetto dwelling) losers. 3. The store on Carpenter Rd. in Ypsilanti - this store used ...

Re: Walmart stores that are tolerable...even nice!

I only ever go to the one in Ypsilanti Township on Ellsworth and the one in Saline. The Saline store is not that old and seems nice to me although I've only ever gone there looking for a specific item they had in stock. The Ypsilanti township store on Ellsworth was a dump not too long ago but they ...

Re: Very sad news - Senator John McCain has brain cancer

I would think he'll have to have surgery to remove the tumor, then possibly chemo and/or radiation to try and get rid of the rest of the cancer. Sounds a lot like E!'s Maria Menounos situation. And 7 yrs ago, my sister had a cancerous brain tumor along with lung cancer. She too had surgery to remove...

I read the one guy, Lugo, was rated #2 by one baseball publication and #4 by another. The next guy was around 14 or 15. The kid is only 18 yrs old, supposed to have blazing speed and could be in single A ball next year. As usual, these guys are question marks, but they could turn out to be gems in a...

Re: Former WDIV Anchor Bob Pisor Dies

I remember some years back, WDIV would run this program around Memorial Day, where they would show all the names of Michigan men who were killed in Vietnam. They used music from Vangelis Chariots Of Fire soundtrack and Bob Pisor would do the voice over.
