Re: Find "Waldo" Finster
Living too far away to hear, not satisfied by the Detroit Lions ALERT offered on Facebook that says "will be broadcasted" from this weekend. It's a communications business, with multiple media a constant these days. Endeavor to do it well.

Re: Hoss?
I suppose I could keep in mind to tune my radio to WTKG tomorrow morning, it was several years ago that The Hoss was buying a slot on AM 1230, maybe 8 to 10 a.m. One might give John credit for having the gift of gab sufficient to manage trades for a vehicle to drive, meals to eat, whatever he was pa...

Re: WILZ Tim Brandow mistake??
Have you heard "Lightning Strikes" on this station? Corporately-owned stations like WILZ may not have anything to play but those options installed in their computer, based on what someone in rock programming up the line has decided will be there. "Dude (Looks Like A Lady"), "Janie's Got A Gun", "Liv...

Re: WFYC/Alma - Jon Heinlen
I remember that WOES job posting, and put in for it though I had little more than a Telecommunications degree at State and on-air work in Lansing to offer as an applicant. WFYC is where I tune when the Mighty 790 fails me in mid-Michigan and my nature is so abusive that I am trying to find a Tigers ...

Re: Can You Tell Me Before Friday Night...
Regardless of what Michigan fans think, the affiliate agreements all get honored on Saturday night, as 96.1 carries Grand Valley-Edinboro, 101.3 has Western's broadcast from Spartan stadium and George Blaha is heard on 106.9/1300 stating MSU's case against the Broncos.

Re: Can You Tell Me Before Friday Night...
weathernut, your brief suggestion to check the Spartan Sports Network affiliate page shows the GR outlet as WBBL, 107.3. No help found there, can't tell by your name if you are a tree nut or a legume. 96.1 has been where iHeart GR parked Grand Valley football, so it's not entirely "open," format thi...

Re: Can You Tell Me Before Friday Night...
I reached out to a Facebook friend who is a heartbeat away from iHeart GR's choice-making and you are right, primarily 96.1, always Spartan games on an FM signal, with 101.3 the likely landing place when there are Grand Valley/MSU conflicts. It seems that Michigan fans would raise some sort of stink...

Can You Tell Me Before Friday Night...
What Cumulus signal will be carrying the Michigan State-Tulsa football game? The Spartan Sports Network website says it's 107.3 WBBL, which shows a general lack of attentiveness from the content bearers for my alma mater. I will actually be at the Steely Dan/Rick Derringer concert at Soaring Eagle, ...

Re: Jay Allen has cancer
Jay was at WOOD and left just as they were set to carry Whitecaps games, where he would have been in the booth with Rick Berkey as their first broadcast team in 1994. That didn't alienate him with the Clear Channel crowd, as he filled in as 1300's morning show sports guy on many occasions in the yea...

Re: JIM PRICE STINKS!!!
So, Andy Dirks was on the Tigers' broadcasts yesterday, is that the first time he has filled in? I can't say that I listen to every game to catalog such incidence. One thing is for sure, the fact that I had to find out his identity via a Facebook thread and Twitter proves that Dickerson is not an el...

Robert Liggett passes...
Art Vuolo reports that Liggett died at the age of 76 from pancreatic cancer. Many others who frequent this board probably had more vivid recollections of Liggett as an owner/operator, but I found WFMK to be a first-class sounding operation from my time in the market, going from student to part-timer...

FOX 17 got to Amash at the Hollyhock Parade on the 4th, WGVU Radio (their only outlet I monitor) caught up with him at the EGR Parade on the 4th.

Re: Mitch Albom proves once again he's a piece of shit
I made the choice to not consume Mitch Albom in the fall of 1988, and I go back occasionally, including just now, to read the column that drove me from him. https://www.mitchalbom.com/mark-messner-never-at-a-loss/ When I read the piece now, it doesn't bother me as much as it did then, but I still do...

Nexstar in Flap With DIRECTV and AT&T-UVerse
Apparently, they (WOOD and WOTV4Women) got dropped one overnight, earlier this week. I have a small mind, but running a banner at the bottom of the screen after the fact, telling those subscribers who have lost these outlets to call a toll-free number and demand restoration doesn't make a lot of sen...

Re: WSGW programming changes
The ghost of Fred Krell will rise up and restore order, with regard to "Listen to the Mrs." To understand the reference, you would have to be old enough to remember the host of LOTM in the 70s, probably the 80s too. I recall as a kid, listening to him parrot the recipes that ladies would offer him a...
