Re: Most distant AM/FM/TV signal you ever tuned in?

AM from Livonia: KOA from Denver, 710 (I think Radio Martí) from Cuba, and a 10kw traveler’s info station on 1680 from Florida who called themselves WTIR. Not sure if they still exist. I found a current WTIR In FL near Lake Okeechobee. It's on FM 91.9 with 2.8 kW ERP. Owned by the Seminole Indian t...

I haven’t DX’ed FM or TV for many years. How do you DX TV these days in the age of scanning digital channels into y...

Re: Radio Stations IDed in Movies

When I was younger, I watched Are You Afraid Of The Dark? on Nickelodeon. They told ghost stories to kids. There was an episode of a funeral home that had a radio station that spoke to the dead. Its only announcer was Gilbert Gottfried speaking in a ghoulish voice (imagine that). The station was “10...

Re: I-75 reconstruction in Troy & Madison Heights starts spring '19

I'm all for civil and reasonable debate about public transportation. I see valid arguments to both sides of the argument. Personally, not to be a contrarian, but if we're using anecdotes to back up our claim, I would much welcome alternative ways to get around town. As a 34 year old IT professional ...

Re: Channel 7 lack of tribute

Agreed. Curious why the original post had to make the point of the news had to choose one over the other, and that the so-called "choice" was wrong.

Re: Channel 7 lack of tribute

You refer to Aretha Franklin's coverage as a "local singers tributes" as if she's a nobody in Detroit or the world, and prefer to have that coverage replaced by "John Mclain" spelled wrong. As much as I do respect John McCain and his contributions to society, he doesn't have the same emotional conne...

K-Mart in Mt. Pleasant is closed. The Sears in Mt. Pleasant is one of those small Hometown stores. I think those tiny stores are a bit more profitable than the department stores, but I don't know for sure.

I remember his hatred for Canada, for no good reason given other than it was his opinion, and that his opinion as reason should be good enough for everybody.

Re: The Old Days on the Buzzboard

KB was a classic troll, and existed only to be nasty to everyone over nothing. I encountered him on other message boards as well. He would think of the worst insults and threats he could think of, then threaten to sue because everyone was mean to him. He was a real nasty person.

I work near 12 Mile and Ryan. I heard a car bottom out on Ryan this winter; they had to pull into our parking lot because they bent their axle. Glad it's getting fixed, but the fact that there are no left turns anywhere along that stretch of Ryan is a H*** problem, as well as construction or a worse...

Chromacolor2, I made your same point in conversation yesterday. I am 34 and also love the cars, but Woodward is too packed, chaotic and stressful for me to enjoy anymore. It's a real commitment to gather up the energy to go there. I don't like sitting in traffic every other day of the year, and the ...

Re: Does anyone actually buy the Dave & Chuck garbage that WRIF sells online?

That laugh, along with Dave's fragile sense of masculinity made me stop listening 2 years ago. I couldn't take it anymore. Too bad, because Chuck and Andy are really funny.
