I cannot help but wonder if 105.9's dramatically revised playlist (implemented within the past several days) and improved audio quality are due to his departure?
The station is suddenly sounding a lot better after suffering some terrible ratings books in recent months.
Acceptable registrations in the queue through May 6 at 7:00p ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.

Re: BEASLEY DET VP accepts retirement package
With Jameson gone, I'm holding onto a glimmer of hope that WRIF's god awful audio processing might improve. Mid treble is absurdly overemphasized and overall dynamic range / soundstage is lacking on so many songs.

Re: Tucker Carlson as Trump's VP?
Here's something that may shock some of you: I think Biden's handling of Israel has been very good overall. I fully support his recent pronouncement to not supply weapons for Israel's offensive in Rafah if certain humanitarian lines are crossed. U.S. popular opinion is also on Biden's side on this. ...

Re: WRIF/WCSX PD Jameson accepts retirement package
Jade Springart (I may have misspelled her last name) has been the WRIF PD for a while. She reported to him.

Re: More stupidity from Dana Nessel
Ridiculous. He - like others - were fed misinformation from the MDEQ. His email communications show a clear concern for Flint residents.
Should he have pushed back more forcefully? Absolutely. But that lapse in judgement is not a crime.

Schuette and his team didn't bungle Flint. They were moving to trial with multiple cases that had undergone appropriate preliminary exams.

Re: Detroit Pistons 2023-24
Welp, Monty's replacement in Phoenix only lasted a season. Frank Vogel was fired earlier this week and is reportedly being replaced by Mike Budenholzer (whose Milwaukee team ironically defeated the Suns to win an NBA title in 2021). Perhaps coaching wasn't the issue a year ago in Milwaukee. They los...

Exactly. I believe the Port Huron newsroom is down to one reporter, which is just crazy.

Re: BEASLEY MEDIA INITIATES 7% STAFF LAYOFFS
Look at their 10K and 10Q filings. No bizarre things are being included in Adjusted EBITDA. In first quarter, they correctly deduct the non-recurring sale proceeds from divestment of their BMI interest. Where I take umbrage is with Caroline's rosy remarks on the earnings release. She could be exposi...

Re: BEASLEY MEDIA INITIATES 7% STAFF LAYOFFS
He's right in that Adjusted EBITDA (a non-GAAP term commonly used in earnings releases and the like) can be easily manipulated through things such as add backs for "pro forma cost savings synergies" and other B.S. Beasley's methodology is clean and includes no such B.S. from what I can see. He is al...

Re: BEASLEY MEDIA INITIATES 7% STAFF LAYOFFS
Beasley's 10Q report was filed yesterday afternoon. They received $6.0 million cash from sale of their investment in BMI in first quarter, so even though a semi-annual interest payment on their $267 million in senior secured notes was made in the period (in February), cash on hand improved from $26....

Re: BEASLEY MEDIA INITIATES 7% STAFF LAYOFFS
Sat through about a dozen songs. Only heard one song that The Bounce also plays. Most of the music was soft R&B released within the past 20 years. Oldest song I heard was from 1982 (You Dropped a Bomb on Me by The Gap Band). Will be interesting to see if 105.9 witnesses any sort of ratings rebound i...

Re: BEASLEY MEDIA INITIATES 7% STAFF LAYOFFS
Unlikely, except for perhaps one or more of the translators. Beasley, if it needs to raise cash prior to entering chapter 11, is more likely to look to divest stations in New Jersey, its crappy standalone AM in Atlanta, or stations in the puny Augusta, GA and Fayetteville, NC markets. Do you think ...

Re: More stupidity from Dana Nessel
The suits state attorneys general filed against 3M, et al. for PFAS made sense. Harm in precise physical locations could be directly attributed to the substance. I am unsure how one can prove what portion of climate change can be directly attributed to burning of fossil fuels. I am also unsure how e...

Rashida Tlaib's seat is very safe. She won in a landslide in the 2022 general. The Arab and African American communities and many white progressives view her fondly. I live on the NE edge of her district. Her most recent quarterly mailing showed a detailed list of all the federal grant money she (p...
