Re: Higgins--Hougton Lake

I've had more trouble getting WPBN in Traverse City than any channel. I've suspected they run lower power consistently.

Re: 97.1's Scott Anderson needs to be fired or suspended

Traverse City wouldn't hire Scott. That said, I've known him for 34 years and he's got a certain whit that some people miss. He's always been the fat kid from The Far Side, but looking at how long he's been on the air in Detroit suggests he might know more about keeping listeners engaged than those ...

Where's the harm in a cheeseburger? It contains some essential foods. Bread, meat, dairy. There's worse things kids could est.
I hope you're joking... That combo isn't close to healthy.

Re: BobFM

I was pretty excited about the format when it was launched because the music mix was actually interesting. These days it's turned into a combination of wklt and the fox. I don't know where the music that is targeted at Gen-X went but I stopped listening 6 months ago and it's off my presets. I can te...

Re: "Riding Amtrak is Dangerous"

I fly a couple hundred thousand miles a year and I can tell you that things have improved over the last 2 years on airplanes. Delta and Southwest are hands-down the two best carriers. American has been struggling but now that the merger is complete they are working to improve their service. United h...

Re: MSU Coverup of Nassar

That said, I believe a school decision should be made on the merits of it's curriculum and the success of recent graduates in the applicant's field of study as regards employment after graduation. There will be time in life to travel the world and gain the enrichment of observing other cultures. Fo...

Re: MSU Coverup of Nassar

As my daughter (who is shopping colleges) pointed out to me; white males are only 31% of the population. Race is important as is gender. It lends to one's capacity to understand a diversity of perspectives. White males have overwhelmingly been in leadership roles in this country, and now that whites...

Toxicology reports often take that long, and in fatal accidents, they are almost always conducted before closing a case.

Are you old enough to remember Engler's highlights in office?

As for fat old guy: he's a 60+ inch waist and knocking on 70. I'd say that's accurate.

Re: MSU Coverup of Nassar

There are many qualified options out there and plenty of absurd snarky ideas too. By identifying a conservative white male as the new leader sends a message that "We want to clean up the mess cost effectively" not "We need to change the culture of a H*** institution, that will ensure people are stil...

I bet admissions is delighted this happened weeks before acceptance letters go out. Here's predicting that the SAT scores of next years freshman will be 20 - 30% lower than previous years.

An old white politician isn't very magnetic to graduating high schoolers.

Re: The Logan Paul Discussion

Quoting talkshow hosts as the sole example of people is a bit misleading. Talk show hosts drive ratings by creating controversy or strong opinions. Show me a talk show host that is respectful to those around him or her and I'll show you someone without many ratings. Real people in the real world may...

Based on the ESPN report, the campus police worked for the A.D.

It also seemed like the East Lansing police contributed to the issue.

My son is leaning libertarian, so none of the evangelistic hypocrisy but limited safety net for those on the edge. He's also for the legalization of all drugs, guns etc...

I'm fine with it but we have boundaries to our conversations.

Re: The Logan Paul Discussion

By the time my kids were about 13, they had a pretty solid idea of right and wrong. I would never try to instill my ideals on them, largely because they have taught me more than I could teach them at that point. They have been making their own decisions since elementary school, and it has proven to ...

Since Nassar was working for the Health Services department, I am wondering when that department gets some of the spot light. There seems to be a lack of oversight there too.
