There is nothing to “fix”. They are more than happy with the ratings. Brooke left on her on own accord, an insider tells me.
It couldn’t be more obvious you’re the insider lol
Lol. Well, sometimes.

Re: Constant negativity

Main anchors in memphis make in the 125-175K range these days. Im sure he is at the top of that, but nowhere near Detroit money.

Re: Constant negativity

What would cause the station to pivot from Humphrey to Adams, though? Are you suggesting his salary demands would've been higher than those of Adams? I think something else was in play. I think the station believes she is a stronger broadcaster (not necessarily a better meteorologist) than he is. H...

Re: Constant negativity

Kim Adams for one, is making close to 500K a year and is a Chief in market 15 for a reason, whether you like it or not. Yes, those reasons are: 1. It is market 15 and she works cheap. Fifteen years ago, she might command that and get it. I don't believe she makes anywhere near that today. They were...

Nobody in this market is making 500k a year on air.
They absolutely are. Not many, but a few holdovers are. And Kim A came in at 400.

Constant negativity

This board is certainly a place to gripe and share opinions. But all I see is constant posts being critical of on-air talent in the market. Calling them “clueless” or “liars” etc. These are veteran onair people making six figure salaries, because veteran media executives determined their place and t...

Re: 950 WWJ lies to its listeners

No one is lying to you. Temps vary depending on the source. It just depends on what weather page the anchor has open on a desktop. It could be AP, weather.com, accuweather etc. what the app on their iphone says. Its not perfect science.

Re: WWJ news writers

I have said this here before. The frontline weekday anchors (am and pm) are all veteran award winning anchors with years of major market experience. They are reading new copy, often put in by the minute, and often written by very young green writers. They are reading cold, while also running the boa...

The non compete is absolutely enforceable. Its a legal provision, and they were fired for cause. It might be different if it was a layoff. Even then, they are usually still enforced.

Re: Ameera David is leaving Channel 7

Back in the day, the market paid enough to keep people from leaving. The weekend anchor job at 7 pays 115K. A weekend anchor in Chicago pays 200. Why would you stick around?

Re: WWJ suffers one of its worst books of the PPM era

I think some (ex?) listeners are unhappy with the current on-air lineup. Also, we all know how rotten the traffic reports were in afternoon drive for a period of time. The folks who have been covering traffic in afternoon drive for the past month or so have been doing a much better job. People are ...

Re: WWJ suffers one of its worst books of the PPM era

Actually, the last year since Roberta left, the ratings and key demos went UP significantly. Nothing against her. But every ratings period except this most recent, was major growth and success across the board. The “new lineup” has been very popular and successful. Its likely summer drop off, but wh...

Re: Detroit Traffic Reporters

All Im going off of is what the news directors are telling the talent recruiters/consultants, who match up the hires. XYZ is starting at 85, DIV at 90. If anchoring is involved, such as wknds, its 115 and up.
