Re: Sam Rubin passes
I guess Sam was one of the most well known entertainment reporters anywhere. Very sudden as you could tell KTLA's staff were in shock. May Sam R.I.P.

Doesn't Gannett own the Detroit News?

I think Sean is great for college football and baseball, but he could improve with hockey. He's had a few great calls.

Re: Michigan Radio drops "Radio" from its name
I feel this was a very weird decision on the University's part to get rid of the name. That old logo they had was cool in my opinion. I understand that times have changed with how you get audio content, so I can understand their POV, but if I had no idea this was a radio station, I could think this ...

Re: Iconic CBC Sportscaster Bob Cole Dies at 90
Bob was probably the best Canadian hockey announcer outside of Foster Hewitt. I always loved him and his energy and love of Hockey. Doc's a great guy who knows so much about the game and I really liked him for the drama he could build for a big game, but some of his calls could be a little on the lo...

Re: Tom Skilling retiring
Tom's probably one of my favorite meteorologists ever. I used to watch him when WGN was a superstation and he always had a great style and just great at his job. He's been making a few appearances since he retired. Seems like he's very much enjoying retirement.

Cliff is still better in my opinion, and I feel Cumulus made a bad move. Nothing personal against Marco though.

Re: Timm on WRQN
I haven't heard Timm in months on WRQN, but he still does commercials for businesses around town. It'a shame if he's no longer part of WRQN, as he's one of the best personalities in the market.

What was absurd about the "workforce" tag? It seems like in an industrial setting, rock music is fairly popular with the workers.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Fri Dec 22, 2023 9:47 amDamn - your memory is good!
Indeed, I used to mock that on-air proclamation for its absurdity.

The one article said he had a short-term illness, but his passing was sudden and unexpected, per his wife.

Tesla vehicles also longer have Disney+ for entertainment due to Elon's bad relationship with them dropping their ads on Twitter.

Re: Ken Calvert, R.I.P
What a shame. Ken was a legend here, in both radio and with the Pistons. He touched so many lives over his career too. So unfortunate this happened just before Christmas, and ten years to the day of his retirement from CSX. R.I.P. Ken. You will be missed.

The both of you will be telling the same, tired jokes in here in 2060. Then it’s a stalemate because we know you’ll be writing him in forever. You'll be voting for Dementia Joe and Matt will be voting for somebody who has literally zero percent chance of winning. So I'm not sure either of you have ...

Re: Ratings Day in Toledo
I'm not sure if WIOT still plays "Renegade" or any other Styx Songs. They do play "In the Air Tonight" and "Money for Nothing" though.
