Re: WADL 2018 Schedule

At this stage, WADL might as well go and add the Happy Tree Friends show (an adult animation that's even more violent than South Park) to their overnight lineup.

Re: 2018/2019 TV Season

Looking forward to the returns of Magnum PI and Murphy Brown. I also want to try out FBI, New Amsterdam and The Conners too. Also enjoy Riverdale, Will & Grace and Blue Bloods. May even consider trying to watch The Simpsons on a TV again.

Re: Mid-MI EAS/Severe Weather

Local counties or municipalities choose when to activate sirens. They can technically do so even if there is no formal weather warning issued. Grand Rapids was all about the storms last nite and had excellent coverage. Not sure why our Detroit stations don’t seem to have the same thing any more. Th...

Re: Then, there's this.....

Another moment from WXYZ...at 10:12 PM during a commercial break during To Tell The Truth, they were airing what looked like a political ad when it cut to a black screen. It then cut to a frozen graphic displaying the text "WAYNE COUNTY" over a shot of the Detroit skyline and then it cut back to the...

Re: Detroit Late Night Programming

WXON was much later. They usually had a short sign off period until the 90s. I think WADL was 24/7 from the start. CBET was the last, only around 10 years ago. I believe the now defunct CBEFT went even longer. I don’t know if they ever went to a full schedule. For a short time in the late 90's, aft...

Re: Detroit Late Night Programming

Actually I believe WTVS didn't go completely 24 hours until 1993 or later.

As late as 1989 WKBD still wasn't completely 24 hours either.

WDIV "Come Home To The Best" full promos from 1988-1989

There are many Youtube videos of WDIV using program promo and ID packages from the "Come Home To The Best" campaign from 1988-1989, but I have yet to come across a full version of WDIV's "Come Home To The Best" campaign jingle. What were the lyrics like and what was shown during the full promo?

Re: Old cable lineups

This is, I believe, one of the newest cable lineups in this thread. This is from the second-most-recent Toledo Blade to have been archived by Google. This is probably incomplete though. Buckeye Cablesystem Toledo headend, December 30, 2007 (source) 2-CNN 3-ESPN 4-USA 5-WT05 (CW) 6-WLMB (Ion (possibl...

Re: WBNX says "So Long!" to The CW

For now, they will probably just throw in other syndicated programs in the 8-10 spot. Or maybe Ernest brings "The 90 and 9 Club" back to 9 PM? ;) According to WBNX's official July 16 schedule, the 8-10 timeslots will be occupied by reruns of The King of Queens and Funny You Should Ask . Dateline re...

Re: Pirate Radio Station in Dearborn, MI

Yeah, that would be WLFM-LP on VHF 6... it operates as an FM radio station for Cleveland... at 3 kW, it actually gets out impressively far.... One thing I don't understand though is if it was indeed WLFM, why couldn't I pick up in Wyandotte, which is closer to Lake Erie, yet I could in southwest De...

Re: Then, there's this.....

WXYZ's audio currently sounds more akin to a phone conversation. This is most likely a technical difficulty, but this is ironic in a way, as that was how network audio sounded like on WXYZ before satellites.

Re: Pirate Radio Station in Dearborn, MI

Also managed to pull up something in my car on 87.7 FM in southwest Detroit near Fort Wayne at Jefferson and Livernois. I believe it sounded like a Spanish format. By the time I was driving on 3rd Street near the Yack Arena in Wyandotte, there was nothing on 87.7 FM.
