Re: TV Guide
I remember TV Guide keeping listings for WKBD into the 2000s in both the Northern Michigan and Northern Wisconsin TV Guides (oddly, the Northern Wisconsin edition never had WGKI/WFQX in their guides despite that TV Guide being the TV guide for the UP outside of the eastern three counties and WGKI/W...

Re: WBKB Footage Unearthed... At Last!
WPBN had no direct NBC feed until sat delivery. They had off air pickups at Morley for WOOD and near Barryton for WNEM, microwaved to the TX site. They would switch to whoever had the best signal. WTOM was fed by microwave from TC from the start. They did have off air pickup in case of microwave fa...

Re: WBKB Footage Unearthed... At Last!
Doubt it was an issue for WBKB. My understanding of that area is that they take care of their own. If I recall, the reason for the for the WNEM transmitter was for backup for WTOM back in the 70s/80s during tropo issues, if/when it lost signal from WPBN. Likewise, I think WPBN used WOOD-TV as a back...

Re: FCC wants to lower or drop ownership rules
Does it really matter? Several already do that through a creating/using subsidiary.
Northern MI is a prime example. Sinclair essentially owns 7&4 and 29&8. Heritage owns 9&10 and 32&45

Re: Misheard Song Lyrics
And how stoned or drunk were we all to hear some of those lyrics they way we did? lol
That said, I don't think anyone knows the lyrics to "blue"... my female cousins always sang it as "I'm blue, I'm in need of a guy"

Re: SCREW YOU! I’M KEEPING YOU SAFE!!!
One of the things I noticed with regard to OTA coverage of storms, is that in GR, when a SVR goes out, most stations almost immediately go on air, until the warning has cancelled. Then they resume normal programming. Many stations for years did this as more of a courtesy. Now, it's become sort of 't...

Re: WBKB Footage Unearthed... At Last!
Didn't know Adam was at WBKB before 7&4. He was probably quite happy to not have to do weather as well as news.
Great find!

Would you rather be informed of the storm heading your direction, or be surprised?

Well, I did say I'm not a country fan... lolMWmetalhead wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 4:26 pmWMKC is not a classic country station, not even close.
You are probably thinking of their low power sister station - an FM translator on 100.7 that rebroadcasts AM 1240 from Cheboygan.
Forgot WCBY is doing the classic country format.
