Re: Weather reporting

Not sure what they're watching but it's been covered on all the stations. I will say that CBS has had more on air quality on its own. They've been pushing owning their own sensor.

Ratings have been steadily climbing. Of course still low, however there has been no decline.
The noon show is already the #1 noon show in the market as well.

Re: Bondy yelling at viewers

I doubt it was one person who made that large of a difference. But I will admit that it seems Ahmed worked up the guts to finally leave and the rest of the staff followed him out the door. I heard they had an executive producer leave before him and that started the chain reaction. Is that true?

Re: MAB Awards

A journalist must also submit work to be considered. This may not be a matter of competing, but of journalists just not submitting any work. Same situation as with the EMMY awards. If you do not send in work, then you cannot be considered for an award.

CBS does not have a chief meteorologist. CBS is phasing the title away station by station.

Re: Hmmm,is the news drought at CBS62 about to come to an end?

Automated warnings were on all of their digital pages and came through the CBS Detroit news and weather apps. I assume that since now weekend shows exist yet that no staff was present. There wasn't much of a risk to staff the station in the morning as I recall.

Re: I guess local TV stations no longer broadcast weather warnings?

CBS had live videos last night and automated warnings on their digital pages this morning. But nothing on the TV. I would assume since they have no weekend staff there was no person in the station.

Re: I guess local TV stations no longer broadcast weather warnings?

Most stations have a computer system that requires manually triggering the mapping or ticker. This is something every weather team has fought against but is a byproduct of the supplier of all the weather systems. Unfortunately until something large happens and nothing is triggered it won't change ho...

It isn't a green screen. They tightened up the camera shot on the monitor. Once in a while you can see a sliver of the monitor edge, and they also are interacting with the screen with touch.

Re: Hmmm,is the news drought at CBS62 about to come to an end?

Sandra Ali did debut this morning as expected. She never did announce it on her Instagram. A couple days ago her answer was still "stay tuned" when someone asked her what was next. Maybe she just wanted to surprise those that didn't know. Legal stuff. The answer as to why nothing could be announced...

CBS broke in past their 11 o'clock news and continued on their livestream through the final press conference as well.

I cannot watch the weather segment. Ahmad Bajjey is too obnoxious and cocky. CBS needs to dump him and put Karen Carter in charge.
He seemed knowledgeable but I do not know where he seemed cocky. Do you have examples?

Looks like WXYZ is the winner. Just measured and we got 6.5” here in Warren. Very moisture laden snow that is weighing down foliage. We got hit hard.
Ann Arbor has almost 8 inches of snow. Did anyone other than CBS have up to 8 on their forecast?

Five bucks says she won't be anchoring or reporting for any other TV station in the region.
I will take that bet.
