Re: WOMC - rip?

With the playlist changes (removing all 60's and most of the 70's) and now the AWFUL new jingles, I think WOMC is going to go crashing down in the ratings. I've stuck with them for years but I can't do it anymore. It went from me not able to turn them off, to the point where listening is actually a...

Re: Cumulus Continues to be Poorly Managed

Companies who don't believe in smaller markets should never have gotten into them in the first place. Large corporations obviously don't know how to sell advertising in smaller markets, and make excuses when they don't. The FCC and their arm twisters made it too easy for them to own smaller market ...

Re: Regarding 105.1...is this true???

Tom also doesn't understand the business side of radio very well if thinks $250,000 in billing for PM Drive in a Top 15 market over a five month period for a show hosted by a market icon is something to be proud of.[/b] That is a very paltry sum of money, especially in view of the fact Drew Lane li...

Re: 105.1 has flipped - now stunting with Oldies

I had the urge to come to the Buzzboard once I read about this. Haha. Oh, Detroit Sports 105.1, it's honestly amazing you even lasted as long as you did. Two thoughts: 1) Stunting really sucks hard nowadays. Remember when stunting was so creative? They're running an HD-2 feed. Good lord. 2) This is...

Re: CBS Radio Sale Has Sumner Redstone’s ‘Full Support’

If CBS Radio is a H*** money maker, then why is it being sold? you don't eat the goose that lays your golden eggs... Stock price. While the radio division brings in revenue and lots of cash flow, it's a slow-growth industry. Make it a company on it's own and it doesn't drag on CBS's stock price. Li...

Re: Dave Shore out at 105.1

In April their strongest numbers are middays M25-54. They're 8th. When you add women to the demo, their A25-54 & P18-34 numbers are abysmal. When RIF's morning show is pulling male numbers in the 20's, they can let 105.1 wallow in the gutter.

Re: Dave Fuller Returns To Detroit's Airwaves...on 93.1

Irresponsible speculation: could Cumulus be setting up the ground work to flip Nash back to "DRQ? First Lisa Lisa then Dave, two personalities that traditionally would never end up on a country station.... Interesting thought but I doubt it. More likely they're just picking up experienced talent fo...

Re: Dave Fuller Returns To Detroit's Airwaves...on 93.1

If it's nothing more than a weekend shift, then there is no need to "congratulate" him. He's probably taking a massive pay cut. That said, maybe I'm wrong and he's taking over middays or evenings instead??? Interestingly, the press release neglects to mention his short lived stint at WYCD. I'll con...

Re: WOMC to go "All-Christmas" @ 6pm on Wed. 11/25

WNIC was #1 across the board, but had their best Christmas numbers WOMC was 3rd A25-54, 2nd W25-54, 7th M25-54. Christmas plays far better with women than men. WOMC is somewhat lower in the 18-34/35-64 demos (again male numbers drag them lower). 12+ WNIC is 1st, WOMC 2nd. Remember this is less about...

Re: 2016 Radio Predictions

The whole thing with the Lions was way way more than just Valenti. It's a constant barrage from Bill Keenist and staff to control EVERYTHING, all the time. And you know what? It might not have been about Valenti at all. I have heard that the station really didn't benefit financially from having the...

Re: Lions to WJR in 2016

BTW, the median listener age for WJR is north of 60. Which just might be where advertisers should be spending their money. Baby Boomers represent close to 80 million U.S. consumers and hold 70% of the U.S. disposable income. Consumers ages 47 – 66 (Baby Boomers) Facts: Dominate 119 out of 123 CPG c...

The article is incorrect, they were 10th A25-54 in June. W25-54 they were 5th.

Yes. A pronounced spike or dip can be caused by demographic changes in the panel.

Re: WCSX up to a 6.5 Share in the April 2015 Book

Number 2 in men 25-54 & 35-64 is the main reason. When you bring in the female numbers their A25-54 & P35-64 number drop considerably though still respectable.

Hunh? it's a couple of miles off of I-84. VERY easy to get to. While the cost of living in CT ain't cheap, it's certainly cheaper than NYC.
