Re: Roy Moore in Hot Water

Innocent until proven guilty means nothing anymore. What a fantastic world we live in when a life can be ruined over a 40 year old accusation. I think those that have discovered this tool have overplayed it. It is simply a hand grenade to be tossed into a room where someone you don't like is. Find ...

Re: CBS 31 in Detroit/Ann Arbor in 1994?

Dittos on MW's recollections and his distillation of the info. 31 was lousy even into the west side 'burbs. The choice was essentially 20 or 62. I've never heard a cogent explanation of why 20 was not a player. Aben Johnson was a sharp businessman....very old school and self-made....but I seem to re...

Re: FCC General Radiotelephone Operator's License??

I hear a desirable thing in the two way radio business is to have a NABER endorsement. Can't tell ya what all that entails. Hi, NABER went away in 1994 to form PCIA with several other entities, and PCIA went away to become WIA (Wireless Industry Alliance). They state they do frequency coordination ...

Re: FCC General Radiotelephone Operator's License??

Sigh......... Thanks, In The Bleachers.....I understand why the license exists, and where it is required and not required, as I have such a license. You were helpful in determining who has it (there are at least 2 of us here). I was attempting, as it appears rather unsuccessfully, to inquire among o...

Re: FCC General Radiotelephone Operator's License??

News? Certainly not a news item......I'm afraid I don't understand your remark. What jobs (perhaps other than at Ham Radio Outlet) require a ham license? I posed the question as a matter of curiosity as I keep coming across clients that require it of applicants for jobs that do not require the licen...

FCC General Radiotelephone Operator's License??

By a show of hands (er, responses), who here holds a GROL?

Did you get the license new after it converted from a First/Second class license, or did you have it before then?

Has an employer, since the removal of it being a necessity for commercial broadcast work, still required that you have it?

Re: And Who Thought This One Up?

I thought the same thing when I first saw it last night......it is so blatantly "this is how you should be" that it could be a political ad for a liberal candidate. Bouncing around (i.e. exercise), preparing healthy food, etc. It's all the same pablum designed to appeal to the mesmerized mouth-breat...

Re: Flint (The Movie)

This, my modulation-impaired friend, is where your argument falls apart under its own lack of weight. And, my bias-impaired friend, the matter is more complex than you state. It may be difficult for you to comprehend, since this seems to be more about politics than issues to you. Did you get a SNAP...

Re: Flint (The Movie)

Your question is interesting, as it's one of those that really does not really ask a question with a desire for an answer, but instead attempts to sell a theory. In this case, it's a broken theory. Yes, it most certainly would "have been permitted to occur" in Grosse Pointe Shores (why did you pick ...

Re: Flint (The Movie)

Just the left trying to make hay out of an unfortunate situation, and rewrite it into a class/racial/whatever issue. The facts are simple: Flint didn't want to pay Detroit's outrageous water rates (which is yet another entire story), and pushed an answer forward before it was ready to fly. Someone i...

Re: Viacom is threatening to remove their channels

Oh well, I don't even care about these cable wars anymore. They are always taking away something, and charging more at the same time. I would just watch the 8 channels from my roof top antenna for free but for my wife who wants cable. Hmnn.. let me see. Stay married, argue every day, and have cable...

Re: WXYZ audio issues in fourth quarter of U-M/MSU

'Dem farm boys got muscles! The auto companies during the late 1960's and 1970 recruited from the farming areas because they found people who weren't afraid of hard work. Waaaalllll......it is indeed a farmer college, but a review of the football roster would likely reveal that the typical football...

I was ashamed to be wearing my colors for the first time ever. Either the U of M receivers were constantly covered at all times, or O Korn needs glasses.

Re: WXYZ audio issues in fourth quarter of U-M/MSU

I missed the audio problem. I'm a U of M alum and a strong fan. That said, I turned the game off in total disgust. U of M let a bush-league, unrated farmer college completely outplay them consistently throughout the entire game. MSU won completely fair and square and showed themselves to be the bett...

It never even crossed my mind that it might be racist. ..................... I've got a strong feeling that a lot of this crap is people just looking for any reason to be offended. It's a power play for weak people. Pathetic. Well said. The minorities have the rest of the population dancing around ...

Re: Look at all the NOAA Wx Radio stations in FL & GA that are off the air...

Sigh. I don't understand what the "special bone" is for the NWS radio system here on the board. Did someone from the NWS weather-radio people insult someone's mother once? I've built some of the NWS base stations, and I've built a LOT of cellular base stations. NWS systems are reasonably robust, som...
